La Poire Mont Blanc Brenva Face (4807m), France

In end of May, 2020, Edmond Joyeusaz pinned down the first descent of the Mont Blanc via La Poire (Comino-Grassi Route, often above 55° with some sections at 60°) in the Brenva/Himalayan Face of the Mont Blanc (4807m).

Location

The Face Sud de l’Envers des Aiguilles de Chamonix is a prominent mountain face situated in the Mont Blanc Massif of the French Alps. This awe-inspiring location is flanked by two remarkable mountain peaks: the Aiguille de Roc and the Aiguille du Plan.

The Aiguille de Roc stands tall at approximately 4,019 meters (13,185 feet) above sea level, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding alpine landscape. On the opposite side, the Aiguille du Plan rises to an impressive height of about 3,673 meters (12,045 feet). Both of these peaks are renowned among mountaineers and adventurers for their challenging ascents and breathtaking vistas. The Face Sud de l’Envers des Aiguilles de Chamonix, with its steep and rugged terrain, beckons climbers and outdoor enthusiasts to explore its formidable slopes and experience the beauty of the Mont Blanc Massif.
